Non-destructive materials testing

The non-destructive testing and evaluation of joints manufactured by means of welding technology are an essential constituent of quality assurance in fabrication by means of welding technology. 

On the basis of statutory provisions, normative stipulations or applicable specifications, GSI mbH, NL  SLV Munich tests and assesses the execution of welded joints.

• Visual test according to DIN EN 13018 and DIN EN ISO 17637 and assessment according to various sets of rules
• Endoscopy
• Penetrant test and its assessment according to various sets of rules
• Magnetic particle test and its assessment according to various sets of rules, amongst others with yoke magnets, a test bench, coils etc.
• Radiographic test with X‑ray tubes and radioactive preparations (Selenium 75 and Iridium 192) at SLV Duisburg as well as on your premises
• Digital radioscopy
• Ultrasonic test and its assessment according to various sets of rules
• Leak detection with a vacuum suction bell

We also offer testing in accordance with the ASME BOILER AND PRESSURE VESSEL CODE, Section V, for some of the test methods listed (e.g. visual, penetrant or radiographic test).

We render these services worldwide in your works, in your fabrication facilities as well as on building sites.

Moreover, there is the possibility of having non-destructive tests carried out on your premises.

In addition, we carry out the qualification of personnel for NDT in accordance with the international standard ISO 9712.
